Paulette Donsavage is a litigator who specializes in complex insurance coverage matters. She primarily represents insurers and has advised them on coverage and bad faith issues for a variety of underlying third party claims involving attorney malpractice, landlord-tenant disputes, discrimination complaints, fraudulent investment schemes, advertising injury, product defects, personal injury, asbestos and other toxic torts and environmental matters.
She has represented her clients in several complex trials involving multi-million dollar disputes over the interpretation of insurance policies and bad faith. She has also handled several arbitrations and general civil litigation matters including cases involving environmental damage, business contract disputes, and commercial landlord-tenant disputes. Paulette enjoys tackling difficult legal issues and working closely with her clients to develop case strategy and seek a successful resolution of clients’ disputes.
Paulette has also handled pro bono cases including landlord-tenant disputes through the AIDS Legal Referral Panel and assisting on a successful federal petition for writ of habeas corpus based upon ineffective assistance of counsel.
Prior to joining Kaufman & Logan, Paulette clerked for Chief Judge Ugast on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
