Betina has over seven years of legal experience in the areas of insurance coverage and general civil litigation, namely commercial litigation. Her practice has also included securities, real estate, bankruptcy, employment and professional malpractice work. Betina’s approach to her work is meticulous, thorough, yet always bearing in mind the most cost-effective means to resolving legal disputes.
Betina’s insurance practice has included analyzing complex insurance policies, preparing comprehensive coverage analyses for carriers and insureds alike, and counseling clients on coverage issues. She has also had experience defending and securing dismissals of bad faith law suits instituted against her clients. In one of the largest bankruptcy/insurance cases in the history of the Fifth Circuit, Betina led and oversaw the joint defense group, consisting of over 10 carriers and their counsel, to spearhead the insurer’s case before the bankruptcy court in the case of In re Babcock & Wilcox. Her efforts, on behalf of her client, resulted in an excellent result for her clients. She has had experience that spans the litigation gamut, including trial preparation in both the Babcock case, as well as litigation matters.
